‘Most wasteful government’: Coalition’s trillion-dollar debt attacked

Shadow Treasurer Jim Chalmers has lashed the Coalition’s trillion-dollar debt, alleging it is the “most debt ever taken to an election by any government”.

“We talk about that trillion dollars of debt – the budget is absolutely chockful of rorts, and waste, and mistakes, and mismanagement that the government should be accountable for,” Dr Chalmers said.

“This is the most wasteful government since Federation.”
